چکیده
human head at 7T. Within one TR we acquire 13 Echoes with a bandwidth of 130 Hz/Px for the TSE part and 930 Hz/Px for the EPI part. The image matrix was 256×182 and the echotime TE=12ms. In a) a regular TSE with 13 echoes is acquired. b) shows a TSE-EPI hybrid with a λLF=0.6. Fig. 1: The k-space simplify scheme of TSE-CAT. The TSE module samples the center part and the EPI module the outer part of the k-space with λHF = 1 λLF.

Correction: Combined Acquisition Technique (CAT) for Neuroimaging of Multiple Sclerosis at Low Specific Absorption Rates (SAR)
PURPOSE To compare a novel combined acquisition technique (CAT) of turbo-spin-echo (TSE) and echo-planar-imaging (EPI) with conventional TSE. CAT reduces the electromagnetic energy load transmitted for spin excitation. This radiofrequency (RF) burden is limited by the specific absorption rate (SAR) for patient safety. SAR limits restrict high-field MRI applications, in particular. MATERIAL AN...

The PSIF (gradient-reversed FISP, SSFP, CE-FAST) sequence is demonstrated to produce high-quality, T,-weighted images in human brain at magnetic field strengths of 4 Tesla and above In contrast to spin-echo or multiple-echo imaging techniques commonly used in clinical practice at lower fields, the importance of Bi homogeneity in PSIF imaging is minimal and the average RF power deposition is low...
متن کاملFat Suppression with Low SAR for SE EPI fMRI at 7T
Introduction: Functional imaging studies at 7 Tesla have given encouraging results, with increased CNR and stronger BOLD contrast [1]. However, a remaining problem at such field strengths is the increased specific absorption rate (SAR). A possible solution would be the omission or the modification of the RF pulses used in the imaging sequence. The SAR for gradient-echo EPI at 7 Tesla can be red...
متن کاملEffect of Phase-Encoding Reduction on Geometric Distortion and BOLD Signal Changes in fMRI
Introduction Echo-planar imaging (EPI) is a group of fast data acquisition methods commonly used in fMRI studies. It acquires multiple image lines in k-space after a single excitation, which leads to a very short scan time. A well-known problem with EPI is that it is more sensitive to distortions due to the used encoding scheme. Source of distortion is inhomogeneity in the static B0 field that ...
